I am happily humming about my home tonight. Sure, I've been uncharacteristically cynical and crabby lately; but knitting a winter scarf, nestling into bed with Nox, and napping to the sometimes swaying glow of lamplight and the quiet end of a candle seems to help. While this may be enough for some people (myself included), throw in a bottle of Riesling, freshly baked shortbread, and perhaps a pile of friends in my big nest of a bed, and well, I think you can understand why I'd much rather stay inside tonight.
These photographs are from a really lovely day I had with some of the loveliest ladies in my life (is loveliness ever in overuse?). I'm not exactly sure how it started, but it soon became a full-fledged affair of delight. It saddens me to think of how bleak things have seemed since then.
I want to reach your level of photographic skill one day. I love your posts. *sigh

ReplyDeleteDon't worry, Lovely is the only way to describe it sometimes, and this one counts. Your blog is great!!
ReplyDeleteThose certainly sound like lovely things to turn a bad disposition into a good one. Knitting, shortbread, Riesling and the company of friends are perfect reasons to stay in.
