Quiet days keep me going. Deux ou trois choses que je sais d'elle comes to mind. Juliette says, "I don't know where or when, just that it happened. I have tried all day to recapture the feeling. There was a scent of trees." Without knowing why, there are moments when I catch the sun filtering into odd shadows, moments when I walk following the direction of the wind, and moments when my vision renders every rotten thing beautiful. This inexplicable feeling of rightness comes and goes so suddenly, that I often wonder if these moments can be simply explained by merely knowing which side of the street to walk on.

  1. I love this.

Some of my most magical moments in the day are a walk home from work, seeing the shadows the trees cast on the sidewalk--like black lace. And I get lost in those moments. Suddenly I'm home and I feel like I've just been on the most romantic, inspired journey, but really it was just a few blocks walk.

  5. I was talking with a friend the other day about how it takes a particular type of genius to eloquently sum up those indescribable fleeting feelings that overcome us all from time to time. I guess what I'm saying is: "You are a genius with a very beautiful way with words".

  6. I've only started reading recently and just had to pause to say how much I love your yellow tights - my favourite colour, one I wear a lot, but not one I would be brave enough to wear on my legs. I'm very glad that someone is and does though.

  7. What a beautiful way of describing that "moment." I've tried to capture it with words countless times, and never quite seem satisfied. Bravo!

Is the title of the blog somehow related to Carson McCullers book?
