"Sleep seems to hammer out for me the logical conclusions of my vague days, and offer them to me as dreams. "
-D.H. Lawrence

I have fallen asleep the past three nights during this scene in The Shop Around the Corner. It is, quite simply, my favorite moment in any Lubitsch film (no easy feat). It is devastatingly perfect. The perfect point for one to enter into a dream.

  1. Is that Margaret Sullivan? She looks like... Edith Piaf!

I sometimes wonder what sorts of days may find their logical conclusion in vague *dreams*.

(That's awkward there with the * and the .)

  2. It is indeed Margaret Sullavan! She's the most adorable lady. :]
